]> http://summit.ccsdistrict.org <table width=100% cellpadding=10><tr align=left><td width=20></td><td><p class="MsoNormal"><strong>Principal's Welcome</strong></p><p class="MsoNormal">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Welcome to the website of Summit Elementary School.&nbsp; We are excited that you have taken the time to learn about our school.&nbsp; Our school has a very proud past and an exciting future.&nbsp; Summit School opened in 1908.&nbsp; We are still located at the corner of 10^th Street and Fulton Road Northwest.&nbsp; In August, 2006 the staff and students moved into our brand new schoolhouse.&nbsp; Today we have almost 400 students.</p> <p class="MsoNormal">&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Exciting and educational things are happening everyday at our school.&nbsp; Based on the testing results from spring 2006, our school has a designation of continuous improvement and we did meet adequate yearly progress (AYP).&nbsp; As a result we have been named a school of choice.&nbsp; Learning is our number one job and acting like a PeaceBuilder in our school, home and community is a top priority.&nbsp; <strong>The PeaceBuilder principles that we discuss everyday are: praise people, give up put-downs, seek wise people, notice hurts, right wrongs, and help others.</strong></p><p class="MsoNormal">&nbsp;</p><p class="MsoNormal"><strong>Sincerely,</strong></p><p class="MsoNormal"><strong>Mr.Thomas Piccari, Principal&nbsp;</strong></p> </td></tr></table><HR> en http://summit.ccsdistrict.org/node/11 <a href="node/11"><span class="image thumbnail"><img src="http://summit.ccsdistrict.org/uploads/summit/images/playground.thumbnail.jpg" width="100" height="75" alt="New Playground Equipment" title="New Playground Equipment" /></span> </a><p>Our students are excited about the new playground equipment.&nbsp; The construction of the equipment was finished at the beginning of November.&nbsp; We owe a great deal of gratitude to the following organizations: <strong>Stark Community Foundation, Deuble Foundation, Hoover Foundation, and Summit Home and School Association (SHASA).</strong>&nbsp; Also, our students and several individuals contributed to our playground fund.&nbsp; The generosity of all is truly appreciated.&nbsp; We will enjoy our new equipment for many years!</p> Thu, 09 Nov 2006 16:15:07 -0500
